Lovely....
This lovely serving bowl is a wonderful addition to your set~ It's a good size for serving veggies or stuffing. You'll get many compliments while passing this bowl around.

NOT SMALL...

I know it named 'small serving ball'. but it isn't small at all.
It's enough for almost everything:salad, pasta, rice-for-4, even making pickle or cookie batter.
you can fill little guilty when use such a fine drawing china for mixing batter or storing fruit&vegi, but it works.

Up to Lenox standards...

Purchased this Lenox product to subpliment my wife's set of Lenox dishes. The product is great.

oval baker...
This not only works as a baker but is perfect for serving anything that has juice that you want to keep with the food.

Who Says you can't be Useful and Beautiful?...
First let me say that this is a very useful dish for casseroles, and large dishes. It is ovensafe and dishwasher safe. I always try to spray it with Pam before I bake in it, but you don"t have to.

This is an exceptionally beautiful dish. The scallops and flowers are done in an extremely artistic way. This is a dish you would want to take to a covered dish party (Just be careful that someone doesn't take it when you are not looking!!) I just love the Lenox Butterfly Meadow Pattern products. They are so interesting and can be used in so many ways.

Very beautiful, good quality. I love it....
The bowl is very pretty and versitile. It has a high brim so you can put something that has gravy, and it will still hold really well. Very good quality.

Amazon.com Review
This seven-piece Butterfly Meadow set beautifully serves your favorite pasta dish as a main course for six. Included are six individual bowls, each identically decorated on the inside with a blue butterfly and delicate green vine, and one 9-1/2-inch serving bowl, adorned more lavishly on its exterior with varied butterflies and blossoms. The true-to-life designs are based on original illustrations by Lenox artist Louise Le Luyer. A versatile set, the large bowl also may be used for serving a tossed salad, and the individual bowls work well for soup or stew. Like the matching dinnerware, the Butterfly Meadow bowls exhibit a scalloped rim and subtly fluted sides, setting a spring-fresh table that any nature lover will appreciate.

Lenox knows the value of carefree daily dinnerware, and makes these Butterfly Meadow bowls of white porcelain that is safe for heating foods in both a microwave and conventional oven, and cleans up with ease in the dishwasher. Lenox backs its products with a lifetime warranty, and will replace any unsatisfactory item or provide the customer a full refund. In addition, under its lifetime breakage replacement program, Lenox will replace any broken piece that is in stock at 50 percent off the current suggested retail price. --Ann Bieri

Customer Reviews

Beautiful and Durable...
I love all the butterfly meadow series. At the store they banged one against a table and it didn't break (don't try at home). The pasta bowls are lovely (as the mama, I love that) and durable (important when you have boys).

grandma's china...
If you like a more classical pattern with some sweet updates, this is a good style. The scalloped edges are lovely. They are sturdy too. I have 3 boys and none have broken yet and they actually like the botanical images and all the insects (ladybug, bee, butterfly)on the plates.

Versatile and beautiful...
The pasta plates are great for soups and pasta. The china is sturdy, and it's not too big or too small. I think the bowl is just okay. It could be a little bigger.

Amazon.com Review
An enchanted farmhouse in the French countryside, delightfully portrayed in Jana Kolpen's book The Secrets of Pistoulet, provides the inspiration for Pfaltzgraff's Pistoulet tableware. The hand-painted collection layers together an assortment of romantic rustic motifs, from fleur-de-lis and polka dots to sunflowers and checkerboards to unfurling vines and ripe fruit. Sun-drenched shades of yellow, red, green and blue create a warm palette, while delicate banded borders and scalloped edges unite the set in a casually coordinated style. With or without the book, the pattern tells a story with fairytale charm.

This 40-piece dinnerware set offers an abundant start to a full collection with service for eight. Each 5-piece place setting includes a 10-3/4-inch dinner plate, a 9-inch salad plate, a 28-ounce soup/cereal bowl, an 8-ounce dessert bowl, and a 14-ounce mug. Complete the look with the whimsical accessories or mix in pieces from the sister Pistoulet Blue series for an even richer medley of colors and patterns. Crafted of durable stoneware, the set is dishwasher-, oven-, freezer-, and microwave-safe. Pfaltzgraff offers a five-year warranty against defects and replaces pieces individually. --Kara Karll

LOVE MY PISTOULET!!
These are the perfect dishes -- bright, cheerful, sturdy, whimsical. I love the colors! Much of their charm, to me, stems from the fact that they coordinate, but don't match. I have two sets - one blue and one red. They are so fun and happy looking. I ordered mine from another vendor, but they were packaged well, and arrived in great shape. It's only been a few weeks, but they are holding up well in the dishwasher and the microwave. I have owned Pfaltzgraff before, and these seem to live up to the name. No problems so far. If you want warm, happy dishes, you can't go wrong with Pistoulet.

Excellent choice for sturdy dinnerware with color
We hesitantly bought this Pflatzgraff pattern after a bad experience with the Pfaltzgraff Napoli Pfaltzgraff Napoli 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4. We ordered from Amazon in case there was breakage like many reveiwers mentioned (besides the fact that we order everything from Amazon). The dishes arrived very well packed - in original Pflatzgraff packaging and then overpacked by Amazon - and all was in excellent order. For a few days we handled the dishes with kid gloves due to the Napoli experience but then fell into our normal routine of rushing through kitchen cleanup, throwing things into the dishwasher, clinking plates and bowls and cups along along the way...just normal everyday banging around (my 16 year old son loads and unloads the dishwasher so careful handling has gone out the door). I am very happy to report that these dishes are holding up very nicely - no chips or breakage, even with a few drops onto countertops and hardwood floors. The dishes have a very bright and cheerful pattern and are well made. I think they will hold up very well. They have gone through about 8 weeks of 3-times-a-day daily use and still look brand new. The dinner plate is average size, the bowls are deep and the cups are the right size for a good cup of coffee. The little dessert bowls are cute (if a man can use that word) and my wife loves to fill them with every kind of new dessert she can think of. I would prefer some of these desserts in the larger bowl myself but that has nothing to do with these dishes...

Overall, these dishes look good and are solidly sturdy for everyday use.

Update: After almost 1 year of daily use (and abuse) I am happy to report still not a chip to be found. I am duly impressed.

Cheerful, sunny dinnerware
I ordered service for 8 and will probably leave half of them packed up for now. I love the colors, the casual theme and the touch of French countryside. Fun!

Amazon.com Review
Pure white dinnerware is classic, spotless, and sophisticated. Corelle's Enhancements pattern features sculpted rims and surfaces, giving the understated pieces a lively texture. Coordinate this set with other pieces from the Enhancements pattern, or let it stand on its own. With service for four, this 20-piece set includes four place settings, each with a 10-1/4-inch dinner plate, 7-1/8-inch salad or dessert plate, 18-ounce soup or cereal bowl, 6-inch saucer, and 9-ounce mug. And since this dinnerware set is from Corelle, it's not merely attractive. It's also highly functional.

Famous for its ultra durable, chip- and break-resistant dinnerware, Corelle thermally bonds three layers of glass together to produce unparalleled strength in its dishes. Because of this process, the dinnerware set is tough enough to use for reheating food in conventional, convection or microwave ovens. The set is also safe to use in the dishwasher and comes backed by Corelle Livingware's three-year warranty. --Betsy Herring

Customer Reviews

Love the set, except......
Corelle's renowned durability of their product ultimately influenced my decision of purchasing this set. I wanted something simple but not overly boring; so I decided on the Enhancements design. I like the simplicity of the pattern around the border that adds a certain elegance to the white coloration. My only disappointment is that the cups from their stoneware line, which aren't as "white" in color as the rest of the set. Unfortunately, the stoneware is easily breakable and "chip-able," unlike the typical Corelle's product. Hence, it earned the 4 stars instead of 5.

Wish the Cups Were Really Corelle
I bought this set to "extend" a patterned Enhancements set I have that is no longer available. The plates and bowls match exactly as to shape, style, and material. However, the cups, while the "look" is the same, are stonewear instead of Corelle material; they are heavier and thicker, and the color is not as white as the rest of the dishes. It doesn't say that anywhere in the product description that I read.

Good Dishes
I just ordered these dishes and have been using them for about a week and a half. They are definitely better looking than your typical Corelle dish but still have the resistance to chipping and stack very nicely. I fit the dinner plates, salad plates and bowls all on one shelf in my cabinet which was wonderful!

The mugs are made of stoneware and not the typical Corelle material which is a little annoying since it makes them a different color than everything else (including their saucers). Also, I ordered the tea pot and cream and sugar bowl and they are also the stoneware. While it isn't a big deal, I really wish the mugs were made of the same material as to my eye the coloring is noticibly different.

That said, I would still buy these dishes again. I like the simple, plain white styling and how compactly they fit together for the cabinet.

Amazon.com Review
Since Corelle is famous for producing dinnerware and bakeware that cannot be broken or chipped, it's hard to resist holding a plate without wanting to drop it on the tile floor to see what happens. While Corelle doesn't recommend home tests, this casual 16-piece dinnerware set is still fairly indestructible and is a real asset for busy families. Livingware is easy to maintain as it's dishwasher-, microwave- and oven-safe and is never off-limits for small children to use and handle because of its light weight and durability.

The set is comprised of four 10-1/4-inch dinner plates, four 6-3/4-inch bread-and-butter plates, four 18-ounce bowls, and four 11-ounce mugs. Plates and bowls are all made of Corelle's signature material, Vitrelle, which is created from three layers of glass that are compressed under extreme heat and laminated for strength. On the other hand, the mugs in this set are crafted of Corelle's stoneware, which is actually breakable and has a heavier feel than Vitrelle. For diners who recall Corelle patterns as being decorated with rather cutesy floral and fruit patterns, this simple, pure white pattern is sure to appeal to their modern preferences. Livingware plates and bowls sport a relaxed and rimless coupe shape and are all stackable for more efficient storage. Corelle warrants this dinnerware pattern against cracks, chips, breakage, and staining for a full year from the date of purchase. --Cristina Vaamonde

Perfect product
It says a lot about a product like this when it's been continuously available since 1970. I've owned Corelle for most of the past 30 years. I recently bought a 17-piece set from Wal-Mart (same as this + a 1-quart serving bowl) for about $24 to replace some Corelle pieces that didn't match my Winter Frost pieces and to have more place settings. The mugs are cheap stoneware made in Thailand, not Corelle. They don't quite match the Corelle and they're going to the Goodwill along with the mismatched plates and bowls, but it was still a good deal for the rest of the set.

I love Corelle. All Corelle looks as if it was stamped out of a sheet of white glass, which is a result of the way it's made. There are no "base rings" or loop handles (which is why there have never been any Corelle mugs). The design makes Corelle very easy to wash and dry. They're very thin, and they stack with virtually no extra space in between them so they use remarkably little cubbard space. A stack of ten dinner plates is only 2" high. Try that with those heavy stoneware plates that chip every time two of them bang together. They're microwave- and oven-safe (don't use on the stove or under the broiler). And they're still made in the US.

It's as if Corelle was invented for large families with lots of kids. It's durable, so the kids won't be breaking it very easily (although it will break on ceramic tile or the concrete if the kids drop it while playing outside ;-). Second, you can easily put 8, 12, or even 16 place settings in any cabinet. If you have kids, you know why that's a good thing. Every time kids eat anything they have to use a clean dish, and they snack a lot, so they go through clean dishes at a frightening pace. With Corelle you can have a big supply of dishes without breaking the bank or using a lot of cabinet space.

Another nice thing about Corelle is that you can use the plates to cover the bowls. The small plates that come in this set are the same diameter as the cereal bowls in this set. The 8.5" luncheon plates (sold separately) are the same diameter as the 1-quart serving bowls and the pasta bowls. The dinner plates in this set are the same diameter as the 2-quart serving bowls and the 9" deep dish pie plate (which makes a fabulous pasta bowl).

The Winter Frost White looks simple, clean, and never goes out of style. Really, after using Corelle for nearly 30 years I don't have even a nit to pick with it. Get a bunch of it and enjoy the best designed dishes ever made. With any luck you'll still have them in 20 or 30 years, and don't be surprised if they still look new after that all time, especially if you go over them with Bon Ami once or twice a year.

Corelle products used to be unbreakable, not anymore...
Got a 42 piece set of Livingware in winter frost white for xmas. The plates are nice and look great on a red tablecloth, though a few were slightly warped (you can see it when plates are stacked). However, that was not such a problem as the cups, which are of terrible quality! I did not use cups on xmas and first used them today. When I took the mugs out from a box one had a barely visible crack on a side, which I did not see until poured water into it and water started sipping through the crack. Called Corelle for warranty, and they do not warranty cups! So much for a 3 year warranty! On their site and on the box it says 3 year warranty with no asterisk or additional disclaimers, but in the care instructions! there is a fine print that cups are not covered. I used to like Corelle and thought they were a reputable company, but not anymore. They outsourced cup manufacturing to Thailand and now make them out of stoneware, which is pretty much like glass. So, if you think you are buying Corelle and it will not break, think again...
